The purpose of this book is to present the main methods of static and dynamic optimization. It has been written within the framework of the European Union project – ERRIC (Empowering Romanian Research on Intelligent Information Technologies), funded by the EU’s FP7 Research Potential program and developed in cooperation between French and Romanian teaching researchers. Through the principles of various proposed algorithms (with additional references) this book allows the interested reader to explore various methods of implementation such as linear programming, nonlinear programming – particularly important given the wide variety of existing algorithms, dynamic programming with various application examples and Hopfield networks. The book examines optimization in relation to systems identification; optimization of dynamic systems with particular application to process control; optimization of large scale and complex systems; optimization and information systems.

This book presents the proceedings of the International Conference on Computers Communications and Control 2020 (ICCCC2020), covering topics such as theory for computing and communications, integrated solutions in computer-based control, computational intelligence and soft computing, decision-making and support systems.

The ICCCC was founded in Romania in 2006, and its eight editions have featured respected keynote speakers and leading computer scientists from around the globe.

The book aims at presenting a multidisciplinary view meant to illustrate several significant efforts and results about the contribution of information technologies to make available new resources and enable rationally usage the existing ones in the context of the ever-growing trends to use ever more resources. Authors from various countries have been invited to contribute so that a rather broad and balanced image about the current trends and recent results obtained could result. The book contains 37 papers presented at the ninth edition of the International Conference of Computers, Communications and Control—ICCCC-2022 held in Oradea and Băile Felix, Romania. A balanced selection of both methodological and application-oriented papers has been made to reflect several recent worldwide trends and results.
