It will enable scholars to compare and further their practices in the area of digital humanities, providing a comprehensive vision of the emerging field of digital history.

The application of digital technologies to historical newspapers has changed the research landscape historians were used to. An Eldorado? Despite undeniable advantages, the new digital affordance of historical newspapers also transforms research practices and confronts historians with new challenges. Drawing on a growing community of practices, the impresso project invited scholars experienced with digitised newspaper collections with the aim of encouraging a discussion on heuristics, source criticism and interpretation of digitized newspapers. This volume provides a snapshot of current research on the subject and offers three perspectives: how digitisation is transforming access to and exploration of historical newspaper collections; how automatic content processing allows for the creation of new layers of information; and, finally, what analyses this enhanced material opens up. ‘impresso - Media Monitoring of the Past’ is an interdisciplinary research project that applies text mining tools to digitised historical newspapers and integrates the resulting data into historical research workflows by means of a newly developed user interface. The question of how best to adapt text mining tools and their use by humanities researchers is at the heart of the impresso enterprise.

Cette vague d''opposition a récemment largement freiné – voire arrêté – l''évolution de l''Union européenne. C''est pourquoi un groupe de jeunes chercheurs de l''Université de Strasbourg se consacre depuis 2008 à l''étude des oppositions à l''Europe. Les thèmes abordés – concepts de l''anti-européisme, identité européenne, relations transfrontalières, étude des partis politiques, etc. – permettent d''appréhender la multiplicité et la dynamique des résistances à l''Europe et de différencier entre véritable opposition et scepticisme instrumentalisé.Suivant une approche interdisciplinaire, des universitaires venant de plus de dix pays différents tentent de répondre aux questions suivantes : quelles sont les représentations, thèmes et images des résistances ? L''Europe des régions est-elle une forme d''anti- ou d''alter-européisme ? Où sont les frontières de l''Europe et de son élargissement ?---Die europäische Integration hat derzeit schlechte Presse. Die Widerstände gegen Europa haben sich in den letzten fünfzehn Jahren in den unterschiedlichsten Formen entwickelt. Diese "Welle der Ablehnung" hat in der letzten Zeit die Fortschritte der Europäischen Union stark gebremst.Eine Gruppe junger Historiker der Université de Strasbourg widmet sich seit 2008 der Erforschung dieses Anti-Europäismus seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Dabei verfolgen sie einen interdisziplinären Kurs, der sowohl nach Konzepten, Ideen und Formen des Widerstandes fragt als auch die Angst (und die Instrumentalisierung dieser) vor den "Anderen" beleuchtet. Nicht zuletzt wird auch nach den Grenzen Europas gefragt.
