Its aim is to implement aformal system which captures a practically relevant body ofcognitive faculties employed by humans and capitalizes onits technical strength to extend human knowledgerepresentation and reasoning capabilities.In this monograph, the author develops formalisms for hisown notion of a vivid knowledge representation and reasoningsystem, characterized by the presence of two kinds ofnegation (weak and strong) and the requirements ofrestricted reflexivity, constructivity, andnon-explosiveness. The book is based on work carried outwithin an interdisciplinary research project at the FreeUniversity of Berlin.

Neue Forschungsergebnisse zeigen, dass die alleinige Behandlung der (vermeintlich) zugrundeliegenden psychischen Storungen oft nicht ausreicht, um das Suizidrisiko zu senken. Das Kurzzeitprogramm "e;RISE - Relapse Prevention Intervention after Suicidal Event"e; setzt daher direkt bei der Bewaltigung von Suizidgedanken und suizidalem Verhalten an. Dabei werden Schlusselelemente der kognitiv-behavioralen Verhaltenstherapie mit Techniken der Akzeptanz- und Commitment-Therapie (ACT) kombiniert, die sich als wirksam beim Umgang mit Suizidgedanken und suizidalem Verhalten erwiesen haben. Das therapeutische Vorgehen zielt darauf ab, das Risiko fur erneute Suizidversuche zu verringern, das Hilfesuchverhalten zu fordern, die Fahigkeit zur Bewaltigung von Suizidgedanken zu verbessern und die Fertigkeiten zum Selbstmanagement von zukunftigen Krisen zu steigern. Das Behandlungsmanual umfasst funf ca. 50-minutige psychotherapeutische Einzelsitzungen, die eine Anwendung sowohl im (akut-)stationaren als auch im ambulanten Setting ermoglichen. Neben der praxisorientierten Darstellung der Therapiesitzungen werden u.a. auch Informationen zu Risikofaktoren, aktuellen Storungsmodellen sowie diagnostischen Materialien gegeben. Zusatzlich bietet das Manual begleitende Informationen und Hilfestellungen zur Beurteilung des aktuellen Suizidrisikos sowie zur Absprachefahigkeit der Patient*innen. Zahlreiche Arbeitsmaterialien konnen nach erfolgter Registrierung von der Hogrefe Website heruntergeladen werden. Optional konnen Patient*innen auch die App "e;LifeStep"e; nutzen, um Gelerntes in den Alltag zu integrieren.
