This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Ubiquitous Mobile Information and Collaboration Systems, UMICS 2004, held in Riga, Latvia in June 2004 as a CAiSE satellite workshop. The 13 revised full papers presented together with an invited paper were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers presented are related to fields such as workflow systems, groupware and CSCW, event-based systems, software architecture, distributed database systems, mobile computing, ubiquitous information systems, peer-to-peer systems, etc. The papers are organized in topical sections on data and context management, coordination and control process modeling, and application frameworks.

ETAPS 2006 was the ninth instance of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. ETAPS is an annual federated conference that was established in 1998 by combining a number of existing and new conferences. This year it comprised ?ve conferences (CC, ESOP, FASE, FOSSACS, TACAS), 18 satellite workshops (AC- CAT, AVIS, CMCS, COCV, DCC, EAAI, FESCA, FRCSS, GT-VMT, LDTA, MBT, QAPL, SC, SLAP, SPIN, TERMGRAPH, WITS and WRLA), two tutorials, and seven invited lectures (not including those that were speci?c to the satellite events). We - ceived over 550 submissions to the ?ve conferences this year, giving an overall acc- tance rate of 23%, with acceptance rates below 30% for each conference. Congratu- tions to all the authors who made it to the ?nal programme! I hope that most of the other authorsstill founda way of participatingin this excitingevent and I hope you will continue submitting. The events that comprise ETAPS address various aspects of the system devel- ment process, including speci?cation, design, implementation, analysis and impro- ment. The languages, methodologies and tools which support these activities are all well within its scope. Di?erent blends of theory and practice are represented, with an inclination towards theory with a practical motivation on the one hand and soundly based practice on the other. Many of the issues involved in software design apply to systems in general, including hardware systems, and the emphasis on software is not intended to be exclusive.

The authors have here put together the first reference on all aspects of testing and validating service-oriented architectures. With contributions by leading academic and industrial research groups it offers detailed guidelines for the actual validation process. Readers will find a comprehensive survey of state-of-the-art approaches as well as techniques and tools to improve the quality of service-oriented applications. It also includes references and scenarios for future research and development.

This volume contains the proceedings of the seventh International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE2007), which was held in Como (Italy) in July 2007. The conference is the ?agship event of the community, promoting research and scienti?c progress in the Web engineering ?eld. The importance of the Web — and of its many related technologies— is widening the scope of the conference year after year, and is also leading to the cross-fertilization of several related disciplines (e.g., requirements engineering, testing and analysis, communication science, HCI, multimedia, and more). The conference brings together practiti- ers, scientists, and researchers committed to investigating and innovating the technologies, methodologies, tools, processes, and techniques used to construct, verify, and maintain Web-based applications and services. This year, the Call for Papers attracted a high number of submissions with a verygoodcoverageof allthe di?erentfacets of the Web engineeringdiscipline.A totalof172submissions(asforresearchpapers)allowedusto buildanattractive program of high technical and scienti?c quality. The 39 selected submissions comprise 26 full papers and 13 short papers (with an acceptance rate close to 23%); they cover the di?erent aspects highlighted in the Call for Papers and represent well the many Web engineering research groups active worldwide. The program spans from service-based systems to testing and analysis, from quality and metrics to models, and from semantic issues and Web 2.0 to application development techniques.

Welcome to ICSOC-ServiceWave 2009. This volume contains the research and demopapersselectedforpresentationattheSeventhInternationalConferenceon Service-Oriented Computing, which was held in Stockholm, Sweden, November 24-27, 2009. Continuing the tradition set in the previous six years, we are pleased to present a high-quality technical program. This year ICSOC ServiceWaveworked together to convey a world-leading and unique opportunity for academic - searchers and industry practitioners to report their state-of-the-art research ?ndings in service-orientedcomputing. The joint conference aims to foster cro- community scienti?c excellence by gathering experts from various disciplines such as distributed systems, software engineering, computer networks, business intelligence, service science, grid and cloud computing, and security. Consistent with the high quality of the conference, we received 228 paper submissions from a number of di?erent disciplines. Thirty-sevenpapers were - cepted as regular contributions, for a very competitive acceptance rate of 16%; eight further submissions were accepted as short papers. The programalso c- prisedninedemonstrationsofinnovativetoolsandprototypes.Alltheseelements contributed to a program that covered the many di?erent areas of the discipline and provided an up-to-date synthesis of the researchon service-orientedsystems and applications.
