Este texto presenta los principales antecedentes y fases del proceso de constitucionalidad que concluyó con la Sentencia C -376 de 2010. En esta sentencia, reproducida en su integridad en esta obra, la Corte Constitucional colombiana garantizó de forma inmediata la gratuidad y obligatoriedad de la educación básica primaria en los establecimientos educativos estatales de Colombia.
