Gathering works by Lucio Fontana, Fausto Melotti, Emilio Vedova, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Enrico Castellani, Bruno Munari, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jannis Kounellis and many others, Italia Moderna reconstructs the complex artistic fabric of Italy during one of the country’s most fertile periods of change.“Reconstruction” and “Protest” are of course not the only two organizing principles within which the Italian conception of modernity has unfolded, but they do usefully signify the cultural milestones and developments that brought Italy into the international limelight during this time.Here, 140 works, all selected from the collections of the Intesa Sanpaolo bank, serve to highlight the climate, atmosphere and fabric of the time. All the key Italian artists of this fruitful period are represented in the volume, from Fontana to Vedova, from Manzoni to Guttuso, from Kounellis to Merz.

During the 1960s in Rome, the artist Giosetta Fioroni discovered her language of expression by combining her passion for literature with her passion for painting. She merged the perturbations of Informal Art with notions of emerging Pop Art - becoming one of its prominent figures.Silver is the colour characterising Giosetta Fioroni's paintings from that decade. And indeed it represents the artist's unmistakable 'trademark' - to the point of overshadowing the linguistic and emotional apprehensions populating her works and the events in her life before and after those happy and acknowledged times. This book, edited by Marco Meneguzzo and Piero Mascitti, portrays the complexity of an artist within the expressive abundance of a time and a city. A time and a city so stratified at a cultural level as to have more than one surprise in store for historical and critical analysis.

The volume accompanies the first great anthological exhibition dedicated to Agostino Bonalumi (1935-2013) in the city of Milan, a few years after his death. From the beginnings with Enrico Castellani and Piero Manzoni, through the sixties in contact with major European groups until the recent international rediscovery, the volume documents the multi-faceted and at the same time rigorous activity of one of the greatest interpreters of abstractionism in the world, who managed to overcome the two-dimensionality of painting through works on canvas that are transformed into sculpture, thanks to the technique of 'extroflexion'. The volume, with texts by Marco Meneguzzo and Philip Rylands, is complete with an anthology of writings about the artist and bio-bibliographical sections.

The General Catalogue of Gio’ Pomodoro’s sculptures (Orciano di Pesaro, 1930 - Milan, 2002) stands as the most current and comprehensive publication encompassing the entire body of work crafted by this master sculptor.Within its pages, you will find a collection that spans over 3,000 sculptural pieces created by the artist between 1955 and 2002. This monumental undertaking was executed with meticulous research, analysis, and documentation spanning two decades, all orchestrated by the Gio’ Pomodoro Archive. This project was initiated under Luciano Caramel’s guidance and continued by Marco Meneguzzo, the current president of the Archive. It was carried out with the close oversight of all the artist’s heirs, transforming it into an invaluable resource for professionals, collectors, and enthusiasts.This publication offers a treasure trove of information, documentation, and research materials. The catalogue presents the artist’s complete body of work, from his smallest sculptures (excluding jewellery, which will receive its own separate catalogue) to his grandest public installations, all organised chronologically. Each work is accompanied by an in-depth entry, featuring bibliographic and exhibition references and individual images.Due to the sheer volume of work and the Archive’s careful editorial decisions, the publication is divided into two distinct volumes. The first volume functions as a comprehensive monograph on the artist, containing previously unpublished texts by Marco Meneguzzo and contributions from the artist’s heirs: Bruto Pomodoro, Antonietta Ferraris, and Emilio Mazza. It also incorporates a rich photo gallery of selected works.The second volume, however, constitutes the actual catalogue of his works. It includes a series of scientific instruments and a programmatic essay by the artist, shedding light on his personal motivations and the subsequent technical choices that drove him to embrace traditional sculptural materials while fearlessly experimenting with the plastic materials that have since become commonplace in sculpture.Text in English and Italian.
