Das Buch trägt dazu bei, das Zusammenspiel der Energieströme im Kraftfahrzeug zu verstehen. Es wird aufgezeigt, wie über diese energetischen Wirkketten der Kraftstoffverbrauch und die CO2-Emissionen in den Zulassungstests und bei den Kunden deutlich reduziert werden können. Die Elektrifizierung des Automobils spielt dabei eine ganz wesentliche Rolle und eröffnet Wege für neue Betriebsstrategien, deren Komplexität nur mit Simulationstools beherrscht werden kann.
