Der 1928 in Zürich geborene Peter Henrici verbrachte den Grossteil seines Lebens im Ausland: 1947 trat er in den Jesuitenorden ein, studierte in Deutschland, Italien, Belgien und Frankreich und wirkte als Professor für neuere Philosophiegeschichte mehrere Jahrzehnte in Rom. Während der Krise um die Churer Bistumsleitung 1993 wurde er zusammen mit Paul Vollmar überraschend zum Weihbischof und Generalvikar im Bistum Chur ernannt: Nun standen seelsorgerliche Führungsaufgaben im Zentrum. Auch die Partnerschaft mit der reformierten Schwesterkirche stellte Henrici als Mitinitiator des Ökumenebriefs von 1997 auf sicheren Grund.Die hier zusammengestellten, gut zugänglichen Texte geben einen umfassenden Einblick in Leben und Wirken des weitgereisten Ordensmannes. Sie sind aussagekräftiges Zeugnis seines theologischen Denkens, in dem immer auch praktische Aspekte und Anliegen der Seelsorge zugunsten von Mensch und Gesellschaft heute aufscheinen.
