The use of computation in archaeology is a kind of magic, a way of heightening the archaeological imagination. Agent-based modelling allows archaeologists to test the ‘just-so’ stories they tell about the past. It requires a formalization of the story so that it can be represented as a simulation; researchers are then able to explore the unintended consequences or emergent outcomes of stories about the past. Agent-based models are one end of a spectrum that, at the opposite side, ends with video games. This volume explores this spectrum in the context of Roman archaeology, addressing the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities of a formalized approach to computation and archaeogaming.

Discover the truth in God''s Word in this thought-provoking treatise on the fundamentals of Christianity.
Have you ever felt like you didn''t fit the mold of a typical Christian? Driven by many unique experiences and challenges, author Shawn Graham sought a deeper relationship with Christ. But after serious introspection and observing the status quo, Graham found his perspective didn''t align with the typical Christian pattern. His search for answers only led to more questions, until the day he decided to break free from the mold.
In A Typical Christian, Graham relates his personal experiences of walking in faith as a Christian and how his journey was not so typical. Leading an authentic conversation, Graham explores what it means to be a typical Christian and delivers a startling wake-up call along with a rebuke of the Christian elite. Revealing the truth in God''s Word, Graham challenges assumptions, heed the warning - this book is not suitable for those who are easily offended, and encourages readers to consider where they fit in.
Offering straightforward and bold statements that bring points of contention to the surface, the book is intended for:
