Microbial Cell Factories in Food Waste Biorefinery offers a thorough exploration of using food waste for both commercial and environmental purposes. The book delves into greener fuel production, biofertilizers to replace synthetic agro-chemicals, and high-value bioproducts to enhance waste-based biorefinery. It fosters innovation in food waste bio-refineries and provides insights into current research, limitations, and future trends. As reference material, it helps understand, practice, and promote sustainable systems to protect the environment. In addition to its comprehensive knowledge of food waste valorization via microorganisms like fungi, bacteria, and microalgae, the book discusses the integration of related technologies for additional economic benefits.Sustainability of microbial systems for waste transformation, food-water-energy security perspectives, latest developments, innovations, challenges, and guidance to implement waste biorefinery processes are thoroughly assessed.Assesses sustainability of microbial systems and bioprocesses for the conversion of food wasteShares knowledge about the integration of food waste-based biorefineries with other related technologies to improve the process economicsHighlights attributes of bioprocess sustainability, environmental remediation, resource conservation and recycling, food, and energy security

The human gut microbiome, is a diverse population of microorganisms. The development of native microbiome starts at birth and is highly adaptable changes with age, food habits, life style and physiological conditions (ailments). Advanced “omics-based” techniques are aiding in identifying and establishing the quantitative and qualitative metabolic profiles, activity profiles and complex interactions between gut microbiota and many physiological ailments including obesity, intestinal bowel diseases, type 2 diabetes and several types of cancers. Several studies have identified direct relation between gut microbiota composition, subject’s health including in aging and neurological ailments. Therefore, internal microbiota composition might become one of the critical factors in maintain good health as well as crucial indicator of disease theranostics. This book explores all the dimensions for microbiota composition, in relation with geriatric health issues, and provides insight into the available contemporary medicine and traditional or alternative strategies for treatment and prevention of diseases.

This book demonstrates through lucid explanations and practical case studies how agricultural, horticultural and processed food waste—which is frequently perceived as a worldwide burden—can be used to promote sustainable agricultural methods. It demonstrates how these procedures, which encourage resource efficiency and waste reduction, are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This book provides a clear manual for comprehending and using circular agriculture, making it suitable for anybody interested in sustainable solutions, such as policymakers, entrepreneurs, environmentalists and concerned citizens. It will also be of interest to researchers of science and technology, agriculture, law and public policy.

This book focuses on exploring the potential of artificial intelligence and its respective components in drug designing from medicinal and aromatic plants. Different ancient civilizations have shown the significance of herbal formulation in healthcare, food and curing the ailments. However, with time the majority of this treasure has been lost due to overexploitation or generation gap (destruction of ancient civilization) and evolution of synthetic drugs. In recent decades, society again shifted toward herbal healthcare mainly due to side effects of synthetic drugs. Therefore, the proposal has been segregated into three sections: Section 1 (Chapter 1-4) will cover the basics of traditional practices, policies and screening methods. Section 2 (Chapter 5-10) will elaborate the disease specific applications of phytoformulations. Some of the common and prevalent diseases like blood borne infections, neurological diseases, viral infections, respiratory disorders and biofilm-associated nosocomial infections will be discussed. Section 3 (Chapter 11-15) will provide an overview of OMICS and advanced tools integration in drug development followed by emerging challenges with AI models.
