X. FANG föddes i Taichung, Taiwan men migrerade till Georgia, USA under tidig barndom. Hon är utbildad vid Pennsylvania universitet och arbetar som konstnär, med utställningar över hela USA och internationellt. X bor i Maine med sin man, son och deras hund Pamela. Dumplingpalatset är hennes första bok på svenska.
