Principles of Irish Contract Law is a new addition to the "Principles" series. This book is the ideal source for undergraduate law students and all those interested in the study of contract law. Although this book is student-focused, outlining and explaining the main tenets of Irish Contract law, many legal practitioners will undoubtedly find this text as a great source to re-acquaint themselves with the subject. Principles of Irish Contract Law emphasises the theory behind contract law, demystifying difficult concepts and providing a policy-driven introduction to this challenging subject. The key cases are fully discussed in a manner which encourages students to approach the subject from a critical standpoint. Cases from other jurisdictions, especially the United States, are also discussed. The final two chapters focus on study and exam skills and include worked problem answers.

Timor-Leste has had a troubled history and faces an uncertain future. Having experienced colonisation for centuries followed by the Indonesian occupation, with all its abuses of human rights, Timor-Leste emerged as an independent state, based on the rule of law and on respect for human rights. The last few years have shown that no society is simple and that the complex influences of the past continue to shape political, social and cultural realities. This book seeks to examine contemporary challenges for justice and human rights in the shadow of the past. It approaches the task from a broad, interdisciplinary perspective, conscious of the need to integrate insights not only of scholars immersed in human rights, international criminal justice and customary law, but of others whose backgrounds are in international relations, history, anthropology, demography, sociology, geography and ecology

The European Arrest Warrant in Ireland examines in detail, the practice and procedure surrounding the European arrest warrant and its application in Ireland. Surrender under the European Arrest Warrant Act, 2003 has replaced extradition under Parts II and III of the Extradition Act, 1965 as the principal mode of extradition in Europe. The 2003 Act has been operational since 2004 and there are now in excess of 100 written decisions in relation to its operation. In the last number of months a significant number of decisions have finally made there way to the Supreme Court as a result of which many issues can now be regarded as reasonably well settled law for the first time. In addition there have been a number of recent decisions from the European Court of Justice in relation to the manner in which the Framework Decision ought to be approached by domestic courts in construing domestic legislation. The number of applications under the 2003 Act has roughly doubled each year for the last three years and is likely to continue to increase as EU Member States attempt to implement the new procedures in place. This book will be an essential resource for all lawyers dealing with European Arrest Warrants.

Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act 2010: Annotated is a detailed and expert annotation of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010. In addition the text identifies and briefly considers all the secondary legislation that has, at the time of writing, been made pursuant to the Act.
