Radilicious 2 is a luxurious coffee table book that brings together Europe’s most visionary vegetable chefs. Twenty top restaurants open their doors and stories, sharing 100 signature dishes that elevate vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers to gastronomic heights. This second edition is more than a sequel: it is to be a unique reference work on pure plant gastronomy at the highest level. Compelling texts by Mieke De Vylder and breathtaking photography by Wim Demessemaekers make this book a source of inspiration for the cuisine of tomorrow and a collector’s item that should not be missing from any quality bookshop.

Jet black hair, porcelain skin, bright red lips and fingernails; figures gazing intensely into the camera; young men and women posing acrobatically with bizarre props; animals and plants in the glaring light of the camera’s flash, situated in urban landscapes, private spaces, or in nature, among rice fields, lotus ponds, and cacti — Ren Hang’s photographs are painfully provocative, but also inward looking and dreamily surreal. Ren Hang depicts the human body as an abstract form, often in idiosyncratic arrangements and perspectives, combining iconic images of William Shakespeare’s dying Ophelia in a river; of Leda, daughter of a Greek king, and the Swan; and of female nudes seen from behind using a distinctive visual vocabulary that draws on abstraction, Surrealism, Dada, and both historic and contemporary photography. Ren Hang’s analog photographs use a playful, humorous visual language to relate the feelings, desires, fears, and loneliness of a young generation in China.

Real Life is introduced and curated by Wells Fray-Smith. It is published in collaboration with Gallery Sofie Van de Velde on the occasion of the group exhibition Real Life. The publication gathers works by Ilse D’Hollander, Lois Dodd, Christopher Colm Morrin, Jesse Murry, Heidrun Rathgeb, Peter Shear, Trevor Shimizu, and Frank Walter, presenting a dialogue across generations and geographies around painting’s enduring engagement with lived experience. The book explores how these artists, much like Ilse D’Hollander herself, use paint to address reality in its most porous, poetic, and capacious sense. Whether working through figuration or abstraction, their practices blur the boundaries between pigment and picture, illusion and observation, the tangible and the transcendental. At its heart Ilse D’Hollander’s quiet yet profound vision. Through sketchbooks and paintings from 1988 onward, she offered intimate glimpses of her daily surroundings — a window frame, a stairway, a cat — each rendered with the same precision and restraint that define her painting. These drawings were not preparatory studies but complete reflections on perception itself, acts of seeing that transformed the ordinary into the contemplative.

“With this collection, I attempt to clarify that these are not only textile designs. There is a lot more to it than that: making links to developments in the fields of art, culture and politics is only logical and at least as important. My collection seeks above all to stimulate curiosity when reading (or learning to read) images.” - Marc Van HoeThe Van Hoe Collection - Grammar of Textiles presents The Van Hoe Collection which mainly consists of textile designs, in part weaves and a number of rare books from the period from 1830 to 1990: a period of great artistic and aesthetic changes. Including essays by Mireille Houtzager - Dutch Textile & Costume historian and Johan Valcke, Hoanry Director, Design Flanders, and others.Text in English and Dutch.

Arpaïs Du Bois’ book, Feue La Joyeuseté, further opens the door to her intense universe. The publication, designed by un’dercast, combines her output on paper from the last four years. Extensively introduced by Damien Sausset and including a letter by Philippe Van Cauteren (director of SMAK, Ghent), this book is the ultimate successor of her previous publications - all of them specific gems, both for their concept as for their design. Feue La Joyeuseté takes you on a road trip inside the artist’s brain and makes you a spectator, a witness instead of a passer-by. With more than 450 works on paper, it is opulently illustrated.A soft voice, almost a whisper in the noise of the world. A soft voice that tells of time standing still, of wanderings of the soul, of trials of the heart. And about the impending thunder or the breeze that makes the canopy sway. A soft voice in which the suspicion of death roars as fiercely as the vibrant hopes of everyday life. Anyone willing to listen to it will hear all this in the sentences of Arpaïs Du Bois. For this 'secret' artist writes words, loose thoughts or snippets of text on sheets of paper that still shiver from the colours they have drawn. No beautiful poems or heroic stories here. The power of these words lies in something quite different. How do you draw with and against language?Text in English, French and Dutch.

All prints have value: instead of fussing over making the perfect gelatin silver print, for example, Bruno V. Roels realised that all printed versions of an image have value, and he decided to not show that one perfect print, but all of them, in one composition. Some of his compositions consist of hundreds variations of one single negative, all printed in the dark room. Photography is a mimetic art, it imitates life. But Roels pushes it further: when printing variants of one image; he creates a mimetic feedback loop. He uses the iconic image of a palm tree to prove his point. All palm trees look alike, and as a symbol the plants are highly recognisable. Because palm trees are so widely recognisable, he’s free to deconstruct his own notions of photography, while trying to get away from the “tyranny of camera viewfinders and rectangular boxes of enlarging papers”. Introduction for the book written by Simon Baker.Text in English and Dutch.

Sculptures of Stones by Ronny Delrue depict female statues that are either made of bricks or covered with masonry-like patterns. They form a critical riposte to the heroic male statues of former leaders that are scattered around our cities. Furthermore, the forms also broaden our prior knowledge of the depiction of figures in the public sphere. Sculptures of Stones shows drawing to be a form of spontaneous expression. It offers an alternative to the all-pervasive means of instant communication that govern the world today, namely digital tools and social media systems. Delrue’s drawings are both action and representation. Unlike the electronic devices, a drawing redeems the option of an unmediated, direct action and reflection in and on the world. It re-positions the function of the artist as a free, sovereign subject, who touches the world and is ready to participate and influence history.English, Dutch and French.

Elemental Liv shows how Alexis Herbosch builds houses that form the backdrop to our everyday surroundings and connect with the existing. With real materials, he opens these spaces to the outside world. They are buildings that touch and appeal to people, overwhelm and still them. Serenity and tactility have determined the design practice of Alexis for twenty years. They form a fil rouge throughout his life and this monograph. What we see are pure forms and a simple mise-en-scène. We feel nature as our guide, observe the defining light and experience the power of the environment. Like a true master, he chooses the right elements to define an experience. From these, spaces grow that smile at all the senses. The use of natural and regional materials is striking. Alexis captures the essence of the good life in his growing oeuvre with his sober lines and controlled layout as his foundations.Text in English and Dutch.

Twice by Jacques Sonck brings together duo-toned portraits of people in twos and threes that Jacques Sonck photographed on the street over the course of thirty years. Jacques Sonck shoots classical analogue black-and-white portraits with an eye for the extraordinary. His oeuvre is a celebration of the diversity of humankind. Sonck is attracted by people who stand out from the crowd, either by an anomaly in their appearance or by their extrovert attitude and Twice demonstrates diversity and his anthropological taste within photography. His eccentric models are unique individuals who walk the border of ‘normality’. Although his work is often compared with that of Diane Arbus, who photographed humans on the margins of society, Sonck is more interested in the physical appearance than in the social position of his subjects. In English and French.

How many newspapers and magazines do people throw out every day? How many unread masterpieces appear on your bookshelf? How many old exams and assignments are gathering dust in the attics of schools? For 50 years, the Belgian artist Denmark – the pseudonym of Marc Robbroeckx – has transformed tonnes of printed paper into art. He creates sculptures and installations using books, newspapers, and magazines. His main ingredient is always paper – cut, pressed, stacked, or folded. Since the early seventies, Denmark has been cutting up, dissecting, and (re)assembling books, magazines, and newspapers. His archive installations are a critical reaction to the overload of information we are confronted with daily, opposing the abundance of information, symbolised by the gigantic masses of discarded - and often unused - paper. These surplus newspapers, magazines, books, and archives are cut up, folded, glued, bound, pressed, sanded, and ground,... by the artist to create new visual archives, no longer for consulting but purely for viewing beauty as resistance to excess. 'anarchives' provides a sober and in-depth overview of the artist's many years of practice.Text in English, French and Dutch.

I Am Digital takes you on an intimate journey through Flora Miranda’s extraterrestrial world of phygital (physical plus digital) identities. Explore technological storytelling, artistic haute couture creations and visions for creative fashion software. In the book, the multitude of Flora Miranda’s work unfolds in different subject areas. Enjoy a beautiful outsight of an immaterial world, an immaterial self.Flora Miranda’s fascination with the simultaneous evolution of human behaviour and new technologies has its origins in her upbringing: born in a family of musicians and artists, she learned how painters helped their eyes with the camera obscura and photography. She saw musical instruments tweaked, like the prepared piano by John Cage.Experiencing the shift in the digital world with home computers and the internet, the ‘digital’ became her attitude to life. Expressing, shaping, and exploring this further evolving digital identity is the role of Flora Miranda’s creations. This book is your companion to navigate through bits and bytes. To feel strong in a jungle of hackers. It can inspire you to take things into your own hand – may it be a change of perspective on the world, may it be transformative, may it support projects you believe in, or may it help to build your own world.

An artist’s book that openly invites readers to critical thinking, dialogue and debate.

Slash & Burn presents some of Marcin Dudek's key creations, focusing on what he refers to as 'Memory Boxes' and touching on other elements of practice including collage, performance, sculpture and research.Marcin Dudek was just 12 years old and living in a concrete housing block outside Krakow, Poland, when the Berlin Wall finally toppled. Poland's free-fall into capitalism followed as the country reeled from severe shortages, skyrocketing inflation and suddenly-defunct industry. For many, food was scarce. Money, more than hard to come by. A frayed social fabric, lacking civic associations left children vulnerable to new allegiances. Before becoming a teenager, he followed his older brother into the arms of a wild group of football supporters who created havoc in and outside the local stadium. Over time, many from this group moved from the council estate into the prison block as petty crimes escalated into enterprising criminal endeavours. Thanks in part to his sister, Dudek found an alternative path, moving to Salzburg, Austria to attend University of Art Mozarteum. He found work in art galleries, learned German and later moved to London, earning an MFA at Central Saint Martin's.Art as methodology for living, coupled with the DIY survivalist strategies of his youth, became tools for transformation as well as dealing with childhood trauma. Shortly after settling in Brussels in 2012, he began to publicly question and explore his past in the seminal exhibition Too Close for Comfort. Marcin Dudek is represented by Haarlen Levy Projects in Brussels.

Staring Into the Night is a book that brings together Amélie Bouvier's research and artistic work inspired by astronomical stories and the history of sky observation, from the late 19th century to the present day. Amélie was particularly interested in the collection of astronomical photographic glass plates at Harvard College Observatory in the United States, which she was able to visit in 2019. Its contents have fueled her imagination for the past five years and form the basis of her latest projects, which explore the history of observation, our link to representation and scientific imagery, and the issues that shape our collective memory and heritage. Text in English and French.

"THANK YOU BYE was born out of a need to put down somewhere what I have experienced over the last five years. Although it gives the impression of a veil being lifted, it is simply a record of my personal experience. The intention, through these hundreds of photos, is to transcribe the absurd, crazy and little-known world of modelling, by means of an unpublished souvenir album of my time spent in fashion. The result is THANK YOU BYE, which owes its name to the phrase uttered by casting directors every time you walk in front of them. It recounts my moments of sadness, my anxieties, my unease, my questions, but also our laughter, our travels, our togetherness, our mutual support. Five years during which I fought not to lose myself. Thrown at the age of 18 at a speed I found hard to manage into a dimension that was not my own, I embrace all the models who ‘pose’ in this book and who, without realising it, helped me to escape. What you hold in your hands is none other than the last chance to prove that I was still worth something. When you turn the last page, you’ll know that I’ve resigned and can finally say that I’m happy." - Clémentine Balcaen

ECHTZEIT is made in collaboration with Dirk Braeckman (BE, °1958) and FOMU Antwerp in line with his impacting solo show with the Collections department of the photo museum. Echtzeit offers a unique glimpse into Dirk Braeckman's most recent photographs, accompanied with the museum's collection and texts written by Clément Chéroux, director of the Foundation Henri Cartier-Bresson and Tamara Berghmans, curator of the exhibition.Braeckman has chosen from the FOMU collection functional photographs, made without artistic ambition. He recognised certain qualities and commonalities with his own work in these atypical images.Re-photography and experimentation have always formed part of Braeckman’s artistic practice, though the trajectory to the final image is always different. For the FOMU exhibition, he worked for the first time with an existing collection of photos. Braeckman took photos of the chosen images and printed them. He then over-painted, smeared or cut holes in the prints. He photographed the results and processed them further in his analogue and digital darkroom. The original meaning of the photographs has been altered through the removal of context, the change in format and the addition of titles. A functional document is transformed into a piece of art, a timeless visual poem that raises more questions than it answers.‘Echtzeit’ refers to Braeckman’s bridging of the past and present.Text in English, French and Dutch.

Summer Blue is a field exploration. The setting is summer, the feeling is blue. Peter H. Waterschoot works his way around romantic scenery using l'heure bleue and blue neon, turning the real into the unreal. More and more exotics pop up, the aesthetic becomes uncanny, and the garden becomes unkempt until it finally blurs into impenetrable wilderness. The quiet voyage reminds us of a theatre backdrop, a midsummer night's dream, Alice, or even Where the Wild Things Are, but at its core, a personal story lies hidden. The book contains 96 images with field notes by the photographer and an essay by Prof. Jürgen Pieters (Ghent University).Text in English and French.

The visual art in Ziltes was created from a mixture of oxygen and salt during the active time in the artist's practice. The creative result suggests a conscious and radical act of resistance by the artist as a human being against linear time, a time that moves forward too fast for anyone who captures life. Virginie Platteau wrote nine poems (FR/ NL /EN) that are scattered throughout the pages and written in dialog with the artworks. Bernadette Messiaen has been practicing art for over forty years, however this is the first time she is coming out as an artist.Text in English, French and Dutch.

Refuge is the sixth book by Lara Gasparotto and spans four years of daily photographic practice, in the artist’s immediate environment but also much further away, as far as Guyana, via Quebec and Louisiana.More than a practice, it is rather a way of looking at the world that drives Lara Gasparotto. A world of outdoors, of flora, fauna, rain, sun, lakes, trees, and her family.Gasparotto spent a winter and a spring working on the selection for this book. In the end, Refuge delivers a subtle narration without chapters, without page numbers, and where the rhythm is changing. On the cover is an illustration by her sister Lissa Gasparotto and inside a poetic text by Eva Mancuso. The 200 images are a little more than strictly photography: intuitive and nourished by painting, Gasparotto seeks with pastel, gouache, sometimes even oil, tenuous elements of her photos that she modifies, enhances, underlines and then rephotographs to finally, very subtly, move the image from the mechanical and the chemical to the fleeting expressiveness of the living.Text in French.

Mark Rietveld (1969-2022) was known in Antwerp for his photography in which he photographed the underground music scene and art world. At concerts, Mark paid equal attention to what was happening on the periphery of the stage, his camera unobtrusively at the ready, in between chatting here and there. He was part of the furniture he had chosen as his subject. A few days after such an evening, a careful selection appeared online, giving those absent a glimpse of what they had missed. For those who delve further into his oeuvre, you will find a photographer for whom the whole world could be a wondrous subject: his archive is full of hushed moorland scenes, torn hoarfrost floors, still lifes, cats, parks in the snow, timeless figures in Prague or Paris and domestic scenes, ... Mark photographed, in short, with a great deal of love, his entire biotope.

This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition HYBRIDS Composite creatures from fables, myths and legends from 9 June 2024 - 17 November 2024 in cultuurhuis / Art Centre de Warande, Turnhout - België/Belgium.Fantastic creatures from myths, sagas and legends are often hybrids, composed of different, often very varied animals. Frequently, they also appear to be a mixture of humans and animals. Such representations and descriptions of hybrid creatures occur in all cultures around the world and have existed since ancient times. This publication reads like a wondrous journey into a grand Wunderkammer.Text in English and Dutch.

Lieven Lefere (°1978, Roeselare) is an artist who plays with the complex relationship between the photographic image and reality. Lefere works extremely meticulously, in a particularly slow process. He carefully manipulates all the parameters that make a photo what it is. The process often starts months before the photo is taken. He starts from an extensive research, with a multitude of reference points. Sometimes he builds sets and scenes himself from that research or from his memories. He constructs his images with scale and framing, models the space, makes models, chooses the incidence of light. The sets disappear or become a spatial part of the work.

Linda Vinck is a visual artist with a long-standing and sustainably developed body of work centered around rhythm and pattern formation. The materiality of her artworks strengthened by the mixed media techniques the artist uses, demonstrate her fascination by the interplay of predictable and unpredictable micro-forms in nature, psychocorporeal transformations, dance, and contemporary composers. The impact and integration of colour and spirituality in her practice refer to her yearlong residencies in Cape Verde, South Africa, and Japan. For almost five decades Linda Vinck has been developing a consistent body of work around rhythm and pattern formation. This comprehensive publication contextualises and presents this artist's oeuvre, and introduces her prolific language as a visual artist in relation to her unique artistic identity.Text in English and Dutch.

This book was created on the occasion of Parrot Pavilion, Triennial Kortrijk 2024: After Paradise (29 June 2024 – 6 October 2024). In the summer of 2024, the author invited 220 of his friends artists to contribute to this publication by sending him their 'parrot-themed speech bubbles' through the mail.

the bear and the butterfly by Ruth van Haren Noman presents a captivating series of watercolour paintings that explore transformation, intuition, and the interplay between strength and fragility. Drawing inspiration from nature and human emotion, Noman creates fluid, expressive compositions where bears and butterflies serve as central motifs, symbolising resilience, change, and the delicate balance of opposing forces. Each painting invites viewers into a meditative dialogue, offering space for reflection and introspection. The book includes insights from interviews and texts by the artist herself. With high-quality reproductions, the bear and the butterfly highlights Noman’s mastery of watercolour techniques, her sensitivity to colour and form, and her ability to convey narrative through abstraction. The book is an essential volume for collectors, curators, and enthusiasts of contemporary painting and visual storytelling, emphasising the transformative power of art to explore emotion, intuition, and the natural world.

Passe-partout presents an insightful overview of the practice of Belgian conceptual artist D.D. Trans, known for his subtle transformations of everyday objects into poetic visual statements. Through minimal interventions and precise compositions, D.D. Trans challenges notions of function, context, and meaning, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary. The book accompanies the exhibition of the same name at Mulier Mulier Gallery in Brussels, offering a detailed look at his most recent body of work, where mirrors, frames, cutlery, and domestic items become quietly subversive sculptural gestures. A prodigy of minimal surrealism in a Belgian way. This publication captures the refined humour and formal precision that define D.D. Trans’s artistic language. Combining photographic documentation of installations with essays that situate his work within broader dialogues of conceptual art, surrealism, and Belgian visual culture, Passe-partout invites readers to reconsider the boundaries between art and life. Both contemplative and playful, this book serves as a vital reference for collectors, curators, and anyone intrigued by the aesthetics of transformation.

Against the Tide is a contemplative photographic narrative by Wouter Vanhees, exploring the rhythm, resilience, and contradictions of contemporary Mumbai. Through a poetic balance of structure and emotion, Vanhees documents a city in constant motion — vibrant yet fragile, chaotic yet deeply human. His work reflects on how individuals find harmony amid the tension of modern life and urban transformation. This personal reflection forms the heart of the project — an intimate dialogue between sound, image, and emotion. Inspired by the music of Pacifist and the friendship of Sidharth, Apurv, Ashish, Utkarsh, and Varun, Vanhees constructs a visual story that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.Against the Tide becomes more than a photographic journey; it is a meditation on balance, belonging, and the search for stillness within the noise of modern existence.

Verstrengeld ("entwined") by Dutch photographer Floor Martens is a poetic visual meditation on the interconnectedness of humans, nature, and time, addressing the 'zeitgeist' of a younger generation. Through a deeply personal lens, Martens explores the transformation and decay that define all living matter, tracing parallels between the human body and the natural world. Her photographs — depicting (often naked) bodies, trees, flowers, and skies — capture the delicate balance between fragility and endurance, intimacy and distance, life and loss. Employing analogue techniques alongside written text, sound, and sculptural gestures, Martens creates an immersive, sensorial experience that transcends the photographic image. Each composition suggests a metaphysical dialogue, where the veins of a leaf mirror the lines of a hand, and the cycles of growth and decay reveal beauty in impermanence. Verstrengeld reflects Martens’ commitment to slowing down perception, allowing the ordinary to emerge as extraordinary. This tril-ingual publication is both a visual elegy and a philosophical inquiry — an invitation to contemplate our entanglement with the living world.Text in English, Dutch and French.

Singular Beauty is the debut work as an autonomous series by Australian photographer Jai Odell, based in NYC, exploring the intimate, cinematic, and deeply human dimensions of contemporary beauty. Known for his refined visual language and sensitivity to character, Odell captures faces and identities that challenge conventional ideals. The book presents a curated collection of portraits that celebrate (androgyn) individuality, imperfection, and emotional authenticity. With a background in film and art direction, Odell brings a cinematic approach to still imagery — balancing quiet minimalism with a strong narrative presence. Singular Beauty is both a visual study and a reflection on the shifting concept of beauty in modern culture. The influence of David Sims is still ghosting around through his portraiture.
