In Rutter's series of choral editions for OUP, Pearsall's Lay a garland is presented in a clean new edition revised and with an introductory note by Clifford Bartlett. If you don't know the rich and expressive harmony of this piece already, I recommend it warmly - and am also moved to check out the composer's alternative version of this piece to the Latin words of the anthem Tu es Petrus that OUP has issued in an edition by Blaise Compton.
