Roland Penrose embraced the fantasies and rebellions of the Surrealist movement through his friendships with artists such as Picasso, Man Ray, Miro, Ernst and Tàpies. On his return to England Roland produced a handmade photobook containing a Surrealist love poem drawn from his memories and pictures from their travels. The following year he would create and print a typeset version based on this book which has today an important place in the history of Surrealist photobooks.
