Digital collaboration has been established in higher education for many years. But when the Covid-19 pandemic struck, digital learning and virtual mobility became of utmost importance for higher education. In the international project »Digital and International Virtual Academic Cooperation« (DIVA), scholars from Israel, Australia, and Germany focused on intercultural learning and online collaboration. Based on their findings, they show how digital arrangements can be used in higher education, how digital teaching can be theorized, and what potential can be gained for post-pandemic teaching.

How »family« is construed on a material and discursive level has gained increasing interest among educational and social work professionals. The contributors to this volume address that question in relation to the diverse everyday practices of »doing family« by its heterogeneous members. The contributions build a transdisciplinary bridge between research on family life on the one hand and research on the formatting of family in welfare state contexts on the other. Fundamental to this is a decentred and fluid understanding of family that conceives itself as a contested set of relational activities in people's everyday lives that are socially recognized as »familial«.

Switzerland is known for its multilingualism, yet not all languages are represented equally in society. The situation is exacerbated by the influx of heritage languages and English through migration and globalization processes which challenge the traditional education system. This study is the first to investigate how schools in Grisons, Fribourg, and Zurich negotiate neoliberal forces leading to a growing necessity of English, a romanticized view on national languages, and the social justice perspective of institutionalizing heritage languages. It uncovers power and legitimacy issues and showcases students' and teachers' complex identities to advocate equitable multilingual education.

In the face of social inequalities, digital divides, hegemonic power relations, capitalist conflicts of interests, asymmetric gender relations and international border and migration regimes, educational and social actions are becoming more challenging. Mediating these social challenges demands new methods and approaches. Thus, the contributors to this volume use critical pedagogies to reflect on art, literature, storytelling, and digital methods as a means to mediating social challenges in teaching practices. The contributions challenge normative perceptions of identity while also promoting students' multiliteracy skills.
