Organolithiums: Selectivity for Synthesis

Skickas inom 7-10 vardagar
This volume, number 23 in the "Tetrahedron Organic Chemistry" series, presents organolithium chemistry from the perspective of a synthetic organic chemist, drawing from the synthetic literature to present a unified overview of how organolithiums can be used to make molecules. The development of methods for the regioselective synthesis of organolithiums has replaced their image of indiscriminate high reactivity with one of controllable and subtle selectivity. Organolithium chemistry has a central role in the selective construction of C-C bonds in both simple and complex molecules, and for example has arguably overtaken aromatic electrophilic substitution as the most powerful method for regioselective functionalisation of aromatic rings. The twin themes of reactivity and selectivity run through the book, which reviews the ways by which organolithiums may be formed and the ways in which they react. Topics include advances in directed metallation, reductive lithiation and organolithium cyclisation reactions, along with a discussion of organolithium stereochemistry and the role played by ligands such as (-)-sparteine.

The field of combinatorial chemistry has seen tremendous growth over the past decade, with a prominence that suggests it will have a continuing impact.
Volume 24 in the Tetrahedron Organic Chemistry Series represents new approaches to solving problems in chemical reactivity and function. Molecular Diversity and Combinatorial Chemistry emphasises principles and exemplifies these with examples drawn from recent literature and thus is an excellent guide to the conceptual framework of the field.
The textbook includes exercises and worked problems which can provide more independent learning experiences and can also be used by an instructor leading a class on this topic.
This volume has been written with the advanced undergraduate and graduate student in mind.

High-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry describes the most important high-resolution NMR techniques that find use in the structure elucidation of organic molecules and the investigation of their behavior in solution.
The techniques are presented and explained using pictorial formats wherever possible, limiting the number of mathematical descriptions. The emphasis is on the more recently developed methods of solution-state NMR spectroscopy with a considerable amount of information on implementation and on the setting of critical parameters for anyone wishing to exploit these methods.
Presents a large number of examples to demonstrate the utility of the methods covered Serves the needs of students and professionals in every chemistry laboratory Describes the most important methods available, with guidance on execution of experimentsHigh-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry
