Edward Fieldhouse is Professor of Social and Political Science and Director of the Cathie Marsh Institute for Social Research. He joined the University of Manchester in 1993 and was director of the Centre for Census and Survey Research from 2002 until 2005, and founding director of the Institute for Social Change. Since 2014 he has been Director of the British Election Study. His main research interests are voting behaviour, electoral geography, and social and contextual influences on electoral behaviour and is author of over a hundred scholarly articles and books.Jane Green is Professor of Political Science and British Politics at the University of Oxford and a Professorial Fellow at Nuffield College, where she is Director of the Nuffield Politics Research Centre. She has been a Co-Director of the British Election Study since 2014, Election Expert for ITV News since 2015, and President of the British Polling Council since 2024. Her main research interests are economic voting, broadly defined, and all aspects of British electoral politics and survey-based understanding of public opinion.Christopher Prosser is an Associate Professor of Politics at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has worked on the British Election Study since 2015, first as a Research Fellow, and since 2019 as co-director. His research interests include elections and voting behaviour, public opinion and survey research, and political psychology. His work has been published in journals such as the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, Electoral Studies, and West European Politics.Geoffrey Evans, FBA, is Official Fellow in Politics at Nuffield College, having previously held posts in Psychology (LSE) and Sociology (Oxford). He was part of the team running the British Election Study 1988-2000, and has co-directed the current British Election Study since 2013. He edited the journal Electoral Studies from 1998-2018 and was founding director (2004-2011) of Oxford's Centre for Research Methods in the Social Sciences. His research examines the relationships between perceptions, values and voting, the social bases of political divisions in Britain, Northern Ireland, Western and Post-Communist Eastern Europe, and social class. In addition to around 200 articles and chapters, he has authored or edited seven books, including Electoral Shocks (Oxford University Press, 2020) and The New Politics of Class (Oxford University Press, 2017).Jack Bailey is a Lecturer in Quantitative Political Science at the University of Manchester. He joined Manchester as a PhD student in 2017, becoming a postdoctoral researcher in 2020, and was appointed Lecturer in 2023. He has worked on the British Election Study since 2020 and has published articles in journals including Political Behaviour, Political Geography, Public Opinion Quarterly, and Electoral Studies. His research interests include electoral systems, how changes to the economy shape voting behaviour, and political methodology.Jonathan Mellon is a Co-Director of the British Election Study (since 2020). He was formerly an Associate Professor (2023-2025) and Assistant Professor (2022-2023) at West Point's Department of Systems Engineering, a Senior Lecturer (2020-2022) and Hallsworth Fellow (2017-2020) at the University of Manchester, and a postdoctoral fellow at Nuffield College Oxford (2013-2017). He has published articles in journals including American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and the British Journal of Political Science. His research focuses on electoral behaviour, survey methodology, improving measurement (including through the use of AI tools), and causal inference in social science.
