    Beskrivning

The traditional structures of business and the workplace have changed drastically in recent years. In response, companies have continuously worked to improve their ability to generate new ideas and bring them to market by removing the common constraints on the processes of innovation. This movement of open innovation in the workforce necessitates improvements in the arenas of idea generation, evaluation, funding, and the presentation of these ideas to the marketplace in new and exciting ways.Edited by Arthur B. Markman, Open Innovation: Academic and Practical Perspectives on the Journey from Idea to Market brings together the latest scholarship on these elements with tried-and-true stories of successful applications in real-world settings. Authors explore a variety of new methods for improving idea development and processes, making this book an invaluable resource for readers as they learn how to create a supportive ecosystem for their employees and co-workers.

    Recensioner i media

"Rigor and relevance combines to make this a must-read book for both practitioners and academics interested in open innovation." --Amitava Chattopadhyay, GlaxoSmith Kline Chaired Professor of Corporate Innovation, INSEAD; co-author of The New Emerging Market Multinationals: Four Strategies for Disrupting Markets and Building Brands"Open Innovation is a critical development in business. Arthur Markman's book provides a timely state-of-the-art volume full of insights, examples, and useful ideas." --Michel Tuan Pham, Kravis Professor of Business, Columbia University Graduate School of Business"Open Innovation, the book, like open innovation, the practice, brings perspectives from different kinds of people together to generate new insights. The fascinating examples, useful reviews, practical suggestions, and new science add up to more than the sum of the parts. Researchers will come away with new ideas, teachers with new cases and conceptual frameworks, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs with concrete ways to improve, and incubators andsupporters of innovation with advice on growing a thriving community. It's that rare book that takes on a wide range of contributors and audiences to a complex topic and succeeds." --Jeffrey Loewenstein, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign"Books on innovation and creativity aimed at academic audiences can be arcane and far-removed from the real world, whereas books written for entrepreneurs can lack the theoretical structure and scientific underpinnings needed for a cohesive understanding of the subject. Markman's volume, Open Innovation: Academic and Practical Perspectives on the Journey from Idea to Market bridges the academic and business worlds, explaining and illustrating thesubject of innovation in an interconnected way that appeals to both theoretical and practical-minded readers. This insightful book explores innovation in a way that spans the entire continuum, from scholars tobusiness practitioners." --Steven M. Smith, Professor, Department of Psychology, Texas A&M University
