He is the associate editor of the Japanese Journal of Religious Studies, and author of Prophets of Peace: Pacifism and Cultural Identity in the Japanese New Religions. - MARK MULLINS is Professor of the Sociology of Religion and Christian Studies in the Faculty of Sociology, Meiji Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan.
