J. C. LESTER evolved libertarian views in morals and politics while reading philosophy at Warwick University. He subsequently pursued his libertarian studies at the London School of Economics, culminating in a Ph. D. He has been published in various scholarly periodicals and a couple of books, as well as in other more popular publications. He has taught at the LSE, while a research student, and at several universities. He is currently a Visiting Scholar attached to the Centre for Practical Philosophy at Middlesex University. Since 1995 he has been the Chairman of the Annual Conference on the Thought of Karl Popper.
