Professor Eric Anderson is an American sociologist at the University of Winchester, UK. He is well known for his research on sport, masculinities, sexualities and homophobia. He has authored several books including Sport, Theory and Social Problems (2010) and the award-winning In the Game: Gay Athletes and the Cult of Masculinity (2005).

   Det är sällan en bok om en specifik teori är lika spännande som en faktabok. Med redogörelsen av vad "inclusive masculinity" innebär som teori och hur denna har växt fram genom Andersons forskning, beskriver han hur män och maskuliniteter - främst inom idrottsvärlden - präglar hela samhället, både män och kvinnor. Även om du inte avser använda Andersons teori, är det en bok som ger (nya?) insikter i hur sexualitet och mansdominans har konstruerat vårt samhället och dess konsekvenser. Med sin teori visar Anderson att det är på väg att ske en förändring i våra (framförallt mäns) uppfattningar och föreställningar om sexualitet, normer och gränser som börjar överskridas och hur genus förhandlas. Andersons olika fallstudier om rugbylag, om universitetsföreningar och om hejaklackskultur i USA utgör en mångfacetterad bild av män och maskuliniteter och den komplexitet som omgärdar görandet av maskulinitet och femininitet.
