Dr. Fouad Erchiqui has been a full professor at UQAT's School of Engineering since 2000. He obtained his degree in Physics from UQAC and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University. From 1996 to 2000, he acquired industrial experience in plastics processing at the Industrial Materials Institute (IMI) of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). His main areas of research are development and characterization of thermoplastic materials under large deformations; multi-physical modelling in thermoforming; metaheuristic algorithms for optimization in thermoforming, and damage to thermoplastic composite. His research has generated more than 110 impacted journal articles and more than 120 presentations. He has been involved in several modelling technology development activities, in plasturgy, and its transfer to industrial partners. Dr. Hassan Abbas Khawaja is an Associate Professor at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, leading the IR, Spectroscopy, and Numerical Modelling Research Group within the Process and Gas team. He holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business. Khawaja is a Chartered Engineer, Vice President of the International Society of Multiphysics, and Director of the Global Listening Centre. He has received prestigious awards and led research projects funded by entities like the Research Council of Norway. Khawaja's teaching emphasizes practical applications and critical thinking, introducing courses in Multiphysics Simulation. His work is published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is actively involved in peer review and conference organization. Engaged in outreach activities, Khawaja promotes the relevance of multiphysics in engineering and science through various initiatives.Professor Moatamedi is President of The International Society of Multiphysics, as well as an Executive Director for New York University London. Prior to this, he was a President for Al Ghurair University, and has held senior managerial positions at Imperial College London, Narvik University College, Cranfield University, The University of Salford and The University of Sheffield. He is Editor-in-Chief of ‘The International Journal of Multiphysics’ and Chairman for the associated conferences. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), a Fellow of The Nuclear Institute (NI) and a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a Charted Engineer. He served as the Chairman of the Manchester Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society and he has been a member of several national and international scientific committees, and advisor to some industrial and governmental bodies including the Office for Nuclear Regulations (ONR), in addition to being the lead person to devise the Multiphysics competence standards for the European Union. He is currently a member of the Council and the Board of Directors of NAFEMS. Professor Hamid Kaddami received his PhD from INSA Lyon, France, in 1995. After his post-doctoral position in Germany (Scholarship from INM-Saarbrucken) from 1995 to 1996, he joined Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech in November 1996. He was appointed Full Professor at the same university in July 2003. Professor Kaddami has had many national and international distinctions, including Yamada Foundation Grant for Visiting Professor in 2004, Fullbright Grant for Visiting Professor in 2013, R&D prize from the InnovAct competition (Morocco Research Association.) The research activities of Professor Kaddami include the valorization of natural resources by integrating them into the development of functional biomaterials; nanocelluloses; biocomposites; bioaerogels, and biopolymers electrolytes. This research has been supported by many national and international agencies, as well as industrials contracts. Professor Kaddami has supervised and co-supervised more than 20 PhD and post-doctoral students and published more than 100 research journal papers. In collaboration with other colleagues from worldwide universities, he set up the international conference ICBMC (International Conference on Bio-Based Materials and Composites). This conference reached its fifth edition in 2019. He also edited many special issues in scientific journals. Professor Kaddami is also appointed as Assistant Editor of Industrial Crops and Products Journal (Elsevier).
