    Beskrivning

Nanomaterials as Gene and Nucleic Acid Delivery Platforms explores the intersection between gene therapy and nanotechnology, assessing the benefits of nanoscale platforms for safe and efficient gene and nucleic acid delivery. Sections address the growing need for alternative gene delivery methods to overcome the limitations and safety concerns associated with conventional viral vectors. Four comprehensive parts provide a holistic overview of the core concepts of gene therapy and delivery; the broad range of nanomaterials available for use as carriers; key approaches, and clinical translation of nanomaterial-based delivery platforms for gene therapy.

This book will be of great use to researchers and academics in the fields of nanomaterials, biomaterials, gene therapy, molecular biology, immunology, and disease therapeutics. This book may also be of interest to clinicians researching novel materials and approaches for therapeutics.

    • Covers the unique and beneficial properties of a wide range of nanomaterials for gene and nucleic acid delivery, including polymers, proteins and peptides, lipids, metals, and carbon-based nanomaterials
    • Reviews applications of nanomaterial-based gene delivery platforms in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, drug delivery, cancer treatment, and more
    • Details assay approaches and transfection factors for in vitro and in vivo use, as well as clinical translation considerations
