    Beskrivning

Computational Mechanics of Nanocomposites: Multi-scale Failure Modelling provides a comprehensive resource on the multi-scale modelling approaches essential for understanding and predicting failure in nanocomposites. Integrating theoretical foundations, advanced computational techniques and practical application, the book shows how nanoscale interactions influence the macro-scale properties and performance of composite materials. Addressing a significant gap in accessible resources, it explores nano-reinforcements and structural failure under complex loading conditions, with chapters organised around key methods including molecular dynamics, finite element analysis, homogenization, phase-field and peri-dynamic approaches, and data-driven deep learning.

The book offers hands-on guidance with computational tools such as COMSOL, Abaqus and DIGIMAT, together with case studies drawn from marine, aerospace and other demanding sectors that highlight the strengths and limitations of each modelling method. It equips researchers, engineers and postgraduate students to tackle advanced problems in material design, reliability and performance evaluation of high-performance nanocomposites.

    • Provides comprehensive coverage of multi-scale modelling, from nano- to macro-scale behaviour
    • Includes phase-field, peri-dynamics and deep-learning techniques applied specifically to nanocomposites
    • Offers hands-on, step-by-step guidance for computational tools such as COMSOL, Abaqus and DIGIMAT
    • Combines theoretical foundations with practical case studies from demanding engineering sectors
    • Supports failure analysis and performance optimization for high-performance nanocomposites
