High-Order Multiscale Modelling Methods for Heterogeneous Materials

Hong Zuo (Ph.D.) graduated from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Texas at Austin in 2021, majoring in Engineering Mechanics. He is now an associate professor at China University of Mining and Technology. He has been focused on the multiscale computation for many years, including the simulation of gas transport in nano-/microporous media, upscaling models and frameworks, homogenization method, high-order asymptotic homogenization method, and other numerical methods including lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), Finite Element Method (FEM), Finite Volume Method (FVM), Discrete Element Method (DEM), etc. He has a solid background in computational mechanics and mathematics, and has published more than 30 influential academic SCI-indexed papers in the well-known journals such as the International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering、Fuel、Chemical Engineering Science、Physics of Fluids、The Journal of Chemical Physics、Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering、International Journal of Geomechanics, etc. Zhiqiang Yang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2008 and 2014, respectively. He worked with Prof. Jacob Fish at Columbia University as a visiting scholar from 2017 to 2018. He won the excellent sponsor of the Postdoctoral Science Foundation in 2016 and the excellent youth of Heilongjiang Province in 2021. Currently, he is an associate professor of the Department of Astronautic Science and Mechanics, School of Astronautics, Harbin Institute of Technology, China and has served as the editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Applied Mechanics and Journal of Naval Aviation University. His research interests include homogenization theory, reduced-order multiscale methods, multiscale modeling and computation for composite materials and structures. He has published more than 70 SCI-indexed journal papers. Shouchun Deng, a professor of Shaoxing University, was sponsored by the Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Prof. Deng is interested in the fields of computational mechanics, numerical modelling, geomechanics, energy exploitation, etc. Xiaofang Jiang graduated from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is a lecturer at Northeast Petroleum University. His research interests include the multiscale characterization of nano-/micro-porous media, CFD modelling, and energy exploitation.
