It’s pleasing to report that Sarah hits the mark perfectly here. This is all about light – indoors, outside and in a wide variety of conditions. One of the most important aspects of painting light is to get the shadows right – bright, direct light produces deeper and more richly coloured ones than when it’s softer and diffused. Sarah deals with this nicely, with plenty of examples along the way. This is an excellently thought out and nicely produced book that deals with its subject comprehensively.
