Changing Pattern of Black Politics in Britain

Kalbir Shukra traces the course of black and anti-racist politics in Britain since the 1940s, offering a valuable historical perspective on black political organisation. Shukra assesses the aspirations and strategies of Asian and African-Caribbeans who organised against racism in the 1960s and 1970s. She also traces the tensions between ethnic and black political strategists and examines the debates around the boundaries of 'blackness'.
