Beskrivning
South Pacific Air War Volume 3 chronicles aerial warfare in the South Pacific during the critical months of May and June 1942. For the first time in history, opposing carriers faced each other in the Battle of the Coral Sea. The battle is portrayed in a complete regional context which includes the land-based air forces of both sides. The events were both complex and surprising: when the respective carrier forces departed an intense regional air war continued. This volume can be read alone or as part of a trilogy which spans the first six months of the Pacific War from December 1941 until June 1942.

Recensioner i media

'...expertly detailed and redress what is a knowledge gap for many readers who would consider themselves familiar with South Pacific air op erations. The quality of research and analysis laid out in the first chapter is sustained throughout the remainder of the publication. Excellent digital illus trations complement each chapter and the text can be easily digested as a stand-alone publication. The book undoubtedly delivers on the authors' intent stated above and continues the excellent standard set by the first two volumes.' * Flightpath Magazine * More great stuff for the multitude of fans of the first two volumes in the series. * Stone and Stone * This third volume of a four part series is truly impossible to put down once you begin reading. * Aviation Enthusiast Book Club * '...the superlative research on the Battle of the Coral Sea is enough to commend this book.' * J-Aircraft *
