Toyin Falola is Professor of History, University Distinguished Teaching Professor, and the Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities at the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He has received over forty lifetime career awards and twenty-eight honorary doctorates. He has written extensively on Nigeria and Africa, including Understanding Modern Nigeria (Cambridge, 2021); Understanding Colonial Nigeria (Cambridge, 2024); Decolonizing African Knowledge: Autoethnography and African Epistemologies (Cambridge, 2022); Writing the History of the African Diaspora (Cambridge, 2024).
