David J. Depew taught philosophy at California State University, Fullerton and is Professor emeritus at the University of Iowa, where he directed the interdisciplinary Project on the Rhetoric of Inquiry (POROI). He is co-author of Darwinism Evolving (1996), The Philosophy of Biology: An Episodic History (Cambridge, 2004), and Darwinism, Democracy and Race (2017). He co-edited Evolution and Learning: The Baldwin Effect Reconsidered (2003).
