    Dr. Asim Munawar is a plant chemical ecologist whose research lies at the intersection of plant biology, entomology, botany and chemistry. His work focuses on plant–insect chemical ecology, with particular emphasis on plant volatile organic compounds and their role in mediating ecological interactions between plants, herbivorous insects and natural enemies. His research program aims to elucidate the mechanistic basis of volatile-mediated plant defense and to translate this knowledge into ecologically informed strategies for sustainable pest management in agriculture. He completed his PhD at Zhejiang University, China, where his doctoral research investigated the mechanisms and ecological functions of tissue-specific plant volatile-mediated interactions within plant–insect systems. Prior to this, he obtained a Master degree in Agricultural Entomology from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, where he developed foundational expertise in insect–plant interactions and applied entomology. During his doctoral training, he was awarded the highly competitive Chinese Government Scholarship and received the Best Dissertation Award (2023) from Zhejiang University in recognition of the originality and scientific excellence of his research. He is also a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) research grant, reflecting the international relevance and competitiveness of his work. Dr. Munawar has an active publication record in leading journals in chemical ecology and plant–insect interactions, has presented at multiple international conferences and serves as a peer reviewer for internationally recognized scientific journals.Jamin Ali, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Sanjiang Laboratory, Jilin Agricultural University, China, where he focuses on applied chemical ecology and sustainable pest management solutions. He earned his PhD in Chemical Ecology from Keele University, United Kingdom, with a thesis exploring the interactions between the aphid Myzus persicae and its natural enemies. His academic journey includes a Master of Science in Zoology from Aligarh Muslim University, India, and advanced training in Integrated Crop Management at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Dr. Ali’s career includes international research and teaching roles, such as a Visiting Scientist position at Ben-Gurion University, Israel, and a Teaching Assistant role at Keele University, UK. His work emphasizes using semiochemicals to develop eco-friendly pest control strategies, contributing to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices globally. He has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2024 Outstanding Postdoctoral Award in China and scholarships from Türkiye and the Government of India. Dr. Ali has authored and edited multiple books. His research articles in high-impact journals explore plant defenses and sustainable agricultural practices. He has presented his research at conferences and workshops in the United Kingdom, Kenya, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and India. Currently, Dr. Ali advances IPM through collaborations, focusing on phytohormones, plant–insect interactions, and innovative pest control technologies. His work connects scientific research with practical solutions to improve agricultural sustainability worldwide.
