He is the author of Clint Eastwood: Actor and Director (1994), Astaire and Rogers (2000), Quentin Tarantino (2006) and Letters and Literacy in Hollywood Film (2013). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the online publication Movie: A Journal of Film Criticism.
