The Art Deco style flourished in Britain during the 1920s and 1930s. London became the heartland of this elegant and modern style, and in the metropolis today you can still see this interwar heritage in its buildings. Art Deco transformed the Victorian city, often using new materials and new technology, and was used for domestic, commercial, leisure and industrial structures throughout the suburbs as well as in the centre of London. Franco Pfaller is a Swiss photographer who has been living in London since 1994. During his time in the UK, he has been photographing his adopted city of London in its many guises. Franco Pfaller’s other photographic love is the mountains of Switzerland and in 2016 published a book of photographs on the Valais region of Switzerland with Swiss publisher Kummerly+Frei called Mein Wallis-Mon Valais-My Valais. Franco Pfaller’s photographs can be seen on his website www.yourpanorama and he also produces posters, postcards, calendars, etc for clients. He has published two photographic books previously for Amberley, London's Riverside in Photographs and Art Deco London.
