Daoist Cosmology and Numerology

How does acupuncture work?Much of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) relies on mechanics and concepts that practitioners know to be true and intuitively understand, yet lack a coherent model to explain. This book bridges that gap and introduces a cosmological and mathematical framework to TCM, using the language and analogies of modern mathematics and physics. The first book to publicly disseminate the Dong Han lineage Daoist teachings, this book reconnects clinical concepts with their Daoist roots, making an ancient body of transmission accessible, coherent, and relevant for the modern world. Understanding and explaining Daoism as multidimensional math, Dr Hiltbrand clarifies Chinese medicine concepts such as the San Jiao, Tai ji, Wu ji, the imperial and ministerial fires, Daoist time, and the microcosm. In practice, this helps refine point selection, clarify complex medical dynamics, and allows practitioners to articulate the logic of Chinese medicine in a way that resonates with both modern science and their everyday patients.
