MARIEKE DE GOEDE is Lecturer in Political History and International Relations at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her most recent book Virtue, Fortune and Faith: A Genealogy of Finance (2005), explores the cultural history of modern financial markets from a poststructural perspective. She is currently working on a book about the war on terrorist finance.
