MATT DAVIES is a Lecturer in the Department of Politics at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. Previously he was an Assistant Professor at Pennsylvania State University Erie, USA and a Visiting Professor in the Political Science Department at York University in Toronto, Canada. His research focuses on questions concerning culture, everyday life and labour in international political economy and he is the author of International Political Economy and Mass Communication in Chile: National Intellectuals and Transnational Hegemony (Palgrave Macmillan, 1998).
