He is the author or coeditor of several books including, Mobilizing the Faithful: Militant Islamist Groups and their Constituencies, Dynamics of Political Violence: A Process-Oriented Perspective on Radicalization and the Escalation of Political Conflict, and Control of Violence: Historical and International Perspectives on Violence in Modern Societies.
