Recensioner i media
"Drawing Protest provides an extraordinary breadth of coverage that will introduce its audience to new and unknown works of graphic protest while providing key context and interpretations to generate further scholarly discussion. The book operates as a bridge between the scholarly and pedagogical spheres. The analyses are accessible, even when dealing with complex theoretical frames. By combining approaches that cross field boundaries, Drawing Protest provides readers with a unique conversation rich with disciplinary cross-fertilization. The book is scholarly, relevant, and well-grounded." - Patrick S. Lawrence, coeditor of Out of the Gutters: Obscenity, Censorship, and Transgression in American Comics"Drawing Protest is accessible, important, and necessary in our time. Each chapter is engaging and relevant; the contributors make major contributions to comics studies, children’s and YA literary studies, and studies in race, empire, nation, gender and sexuality, and narrative form. Drawing Protest also includes a wide variety of articulated theoretical and critical approaches (some intersecting, others diverging) to children and YA comics and literary studies—it is an essential text." - Joanna Davis-McElligatt, author of Black Aliens: Kinship in the Cosmic Diaspora
