He is a political scientist who specialises in the study of democracy; a public commentator; newspaper columnist and a former trade unionist. Amber Murrey is Associate Professor of Political Geography at the University of Oxford. Paul Patton is Hongyi Chair Professor of Philosophy at Wuhan University.
