Mer om författaren
Alan Gordon is the founder and director of the Pain Psychology Center in California, a leading treatment facility for chronic pain sufferers that sees over 1,500 patients from around the world every year. Debilitated by chronic pain throughout his body for several years and frustrated by the lack of effective treatment, Gordon developed the ground-breaking Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) – a highly effective system of psychological techniques that rewire the brain’s neural circuits to turn off “stuck” pain signals. He is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Southern California. Alon Ziv has a degree in neuroscience and was awarded the Certificate of Distinction in Teaching in Biology from UCLA.

Mycket bra bok som beskriver hur kronisk smärta kan vara neuroplasitic och hur man kan bli smärtfri Kan bara rekommendera.

I was skeptical at first but this book has changed my life. I suffered from chronic pain for 22 years with my pain levels varying from day to day anywhere between a 3 and an 8 out of 10. Recently my pain became so bad that I had to go out on sick leave and I was truly at my wit's end. I was desperate and I only hoped that this method would give me a little bit of relief but before I was even done reading it, my pain was simply gone. I have two degrees in Psychology and have studied neuroscience, and I found the author's explanatory model compelling. He is absolutely not saying that your pain is not real. Quite the opposite. I would recommend that anyone with chronic pain give this a shot. One of the most important takeaways in my opinion is to be kind and gentle with oneself, and even if you don't get anything more out of it, I think that's a vital life lesson for all of us.
