Murray Watson has known Bill McLaren since he was a wee boy. Murray, a passionate rugby supporter and former player, comes from and lives, very happily, in the Scottish Borders with his wife of 55 years. He was co-founder of the Hawick RFC Rugby Memories Club in association with Alzheimer Scotland and was instrumental in helping put together the Bill McLaren Digital Archive which is considered to be a collection of national importance. He also curated the Bill McLaren exhibition which, is on display in the press gallery at Murrayfield StadiumAndy Irvine, the British Lions and Scotland rugby legend, who occasionally commentated alongside Bill McLaren contributed a foreword; as did Bill's daughter, Linda Lawson, who observed that the biography told her things that she did not know about her dad.
