Alvin Finkel has taught Canadian history atAthabasca University since 1978. Sarah Carter isProfessor and Henry Marshall Tory Chair in both the Department ofHistory and Classics and the Faculty of Native Studies at theUniversity of Alberta. She is the author of The Importance of BeingMonogamous: Marriage and Nation Building in Western Canada to 1915 andMontana Women Homesteaders: A Field of One's Own.
