Muluken Temesgen Tigabu, Ph.D., serves as an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University. He completed his Ph.D. in 2022 at this esteemed institution, where he also earned his M.Sc. in Sustainable Energy Engineering and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. In his current role, Dr. Muluken teaches and mentors graduate students while conducting impactful research and participating in community initiatives. His research focuses on hydrokinetic turbines, computational studies of wind turbines, solar engineering, and simulations of solid-fluid interactions using OpenFOAM. Zenamarkos Bantie Sendekie, Ph.D., has been affiliated with Bahir Dar University for 18 years and currently serves as an Associate Professor in Process Engineering and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies. He received his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Bahir Dar University in 2007. In 2009, he joined the Erasmus Mundus Master's program in European Master's in Engineering Rheology, studying at KU Leuven (Belgium) and the University of Minho (Portugal). Following his master's studies, he participated in the European Doctorate in Membrane Engineering (EUDIME) program and completed his Ph.D. in Fluid Dynamics in 2016. His research interests include microfluidics and nanofluidics, the rheology of materials, membrane science and engineering, and waste-to-wealth conversion. Nigus Gabbiye Habtu, Ph.D., has held various positions at Bahir Dar University, including Vice President and Scientific Director for the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Dean for Research and Graduate School, and Department Head of Chemical Engineering. With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, he specializes in process intensification for chemical processes, renewable energy, and environmental engineering applications. His areas of focus include chemical and environmental engineering, optimization of chemical processes, renewable energy, wastewater and water treatment, hydrodynamics of catalytic reactors, and waste valorization. Bimrew Tamrat Admasu, Ph.D., is a mechanical engineer specializing in thermal and energy engineering and is a faculty member at Bahir Dar University's Bahir Dar Institute of Technology within the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He teaches a variety of thermal and energy courses. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jimma University in 2002, an MSc in Thermal Engineering from Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa Institute of Technology, in 2008, and a Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China in 2014.Addis Aschenik Alaminie, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Hydrology at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. She earned her Ph.D. in Water Resource Engineering and Management from the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology in 2024. Additionally, she holds an MSc in Meteorology Science (2010) and a BSc in Applied Mathematics (2007), both from Arba Minch University. In her role as Assistant Professor, Dr. Addis is responsible for teaching, mentoring graduate students, and engaging in research and community-oriented projects. Her research expertise includes climate change impacts, water resource management, flood and drought prediction, watershed management, hydrological modeling, and precipitation dynamics.
