Katerina Dalakoura is Professor in the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy, and co-editor of the Greek book series Gender History. Her research focuses on women’s and gender history (eighteenth to twentieth century) in Ottoman Empire, Greece, and the Balkans.Krassimira Daskalova is Professor of Modern European Cultural History at the University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski” and has served since 2007 as editor of Aspasia: The International Yearbook of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern European Women’s and Gender History. From 2005 to 2010, she was president of the International Federation for Research in Women’s History (IFRWH).
