Elever i behov av stöd ska få sina behov tillgodosedda inom ramen för den ordinarie undervisningen. Det är utgångspunkten för specialundervisning. Klasslärare känner sig dock ofta ensamma med det stora ansvar som följer av inkluderingsideologin, samtidigt som speciallärarens och specialpedagogens roller ter sig diffusa.Den här boken handlar om samarbetet mellan lärare med allmänpedagogisk kompetens och lärare med specialpedagogisk kompetens, och hur detta samarbete kan utvecklas mot samverkande möten i syfte att tillgodose det varierande elevbehov som lärare ställs inför i klassrummet. Fokus ligger framför allt på handledande samtal mellan olika kategorier av lärare. Alla kapitel har reviderats utgående från aktuell forskning. Det gäller speciellt kapitlet om begreppsanvändningen inom handledningsfältet.Den samarbetande läraren vänder sig till blivande och verksamma lärare, speciallärare och specialpedagoger. Boken bidrar till forskningen på handledningsfältet, men ger även en empirisk inblick i den specialpedagogiska verksamheten i såväl Finland som Sverige.
