Arbeitsteilung ist mittlerweile bei den meisten Unternehmen ein unumgänglicher organisatorischer Schritt. So sehen sich auch Controller täglich der Herausforderung gegenüber mit Kollegen aus anderen (zentralen oder dezentralen) Controllingabteilungen zusammenzuarbeiten. Nicht selten kommt es dabei zu erheblichen Problemen, welche die Zielerreichung des gesamten Unternehmens negativ beeinflussen. Die Autoren widmen sich deshalb in diesem Band der Advanced Controlling-Reihe den Schwierigkeiten bei der Zusammenarbeit von zentralem und dezentralem Controlling in deren Kernarbeitsgebieten (Planung, Investition und Reporting). Sie analysieren zum einen, welche Auslöser zu Problemen in der Zusammenarbeit führen. Zum anderen zeigen Sie aber auch, welche Umstände zu einer effektiven Zusammenarbeit der Controllingabteilungen führen können. Anschließend leiten sie aus den Untersuchungsergebnissen drei allgemeine Erfolgsfaktoren für eine bessere und effektivere Kooperation zwischen zentralem und dezentralem Controlling ab. Diese können schnell und unkompliziert in der Praxis umgesetzt werden.

Das Controlling ist nicht gerade als Hort von Innovation bekannt. Controller gelten als wenig kreativ und mit Innovationen selbst verbindet sie ein eher zwiespältiges Verhältnis: Auf der einen Seite ist den Controllern die zentrale Bedeutung von Innovationen für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit des Unternehmens durchaus bewusst. Auf der anderen Seite sehen sie die hohe Unsicherheit, wodurch sich Innovationen nur schlecht rechnen lassen. Trotz oder gerade wegen der großen Unsicherheit sollten Controller aber ein besonderes Interesse daran haben, zu wissen, welche Innovationen bzw. Zukunftsthemen sie die kommenden Jahre beschäftigen werden.Der vorliegende AC-Band hat sich der Herausforderung angenommen, die Zukunftsthemen des Controllings zu identifizieren und näher zu beleuchten. Auf Basis einer mehrstufigen Delphi-Studie und einer anschließenden großzahligen empirischen Erhebung innerhalb der D-A-CH-Staaten konnten zehn Zukunftsthemen des Controllings herausgearbeitet werden. Den Ergebnissen nach wird die zukünftige Agenda der Controller nicht nur von neuen Themen wie Nachhaltigkeit oder Compliance bestimmt, sondern auch bereits bekannte Themen wie Controlling & IT oder die Sicherstellung von Effizienz prägen die Controlling-Zukunft. Eines lässt sich über die zehn Zukunftsthemen hinweg bereits an dieser Stelle anmerken: Die Zukunft des Controllings wird spannend!
