The "Second International Handbook of Mathematics Education" should be a useful resource for students, researchers, teacher educators and curriculum policy makers in the field of mathematics education. It is a follow-up to the first handbook, which laid down the base-line in many areas of the field of mathematics education. This was published in 1996, covering research done prior to 1994. This second book: covers the changes and developments that have occurred in the field since 1994; and has a section focusing on public policy and mathematics education.
