TheICICS conference series is an established forum for exchanging new research ideas and development results in the areas of information security and applied crypt- raphy. The ?rst event began here in Beijing in 1997. Since then the conference series has been interleaving its venues in China and the rest of the world: ICICS 1997 in Beijing, China; ICICS 1999 in Sydney, Australia; ICICS 2001 in Xi’an, China; ICICS 2002 in Singapore; ICICS 2003 in Hohhot City, China; and ICICS 2004 in Malaga, Spain. The conference proceedings of the past events have - ways been published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series, with volume numbers, respectively: LNCS 1334,LNCS 1726,LNCS 2229, LNCS 2513, LNCS 2836, and LNCS 3269. ICICS 2005 was sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); the Beijing Natural Science Foundation of China under Grant No. 4052016; the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants No. 60083007 and No. 60573042;the NationalGrandFundamentalResearch973ProgramofChina under Grant No. G1999035802, and Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, China. The conference was organized and hosted by the Engineering Research Center for Information Security Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ERCIST, CAS) in co-operation with the International Communications and Information Security Association (ICISA). The aim of the ICICS conference series has been to o?er the attendees the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in theoretical and practical - pects of information and communications security.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Information and Communications Security, ICICS 2007, held in Zhengzhou, China, in December 2007. The papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected. The papers are organized in topical sections on authentication and key exchange, digital signatures, applications, watermarking, fast implementations, applied cryptography, cryptanalysis, formal analysis, system security, and network security.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Information and Communications Security, ICICS 2008, held in Birmingham, UK, in October 2008. The 27 revised full papers presented together with one invited paper were carefully reviewed and selected from 125 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on authentication, side channel analysis, cryptanalysis, access control, software security, system security, applied cryptography, and security protocols.

The 5th International Conference on Information Security Practice and Expe- ence (ISPEC 2009) was held in Xi’an, China, April 13–15, 2009. The ISPEC conference series is an established forum that brings together - searchers and practitioners to provide a con?uence of new information security technologies, including their applications and their integration with IT systems in various vertical sectors. In previous years, ISPEC has taken place in Sin- pore (2005), Hangzhou, China (2006), Hong Kong, China (2007), and Sydney, Australia (2008). For all sessions, as this one, the conference proceedings were published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. In total, 147 papers from 26 countries were submitted to ISPEC 2009, and 34 were ?nally selected for inclusion in the proceedings (acceptance rate 23%). The accepted papers cover multiple topics of information security and applied cryptography. Each submission was anonymously reviewed by at least three - viewers. We are grateful to the Program Committee, which was composed of more than 40 well-known security experts from 15 countries; we heartily thank them as well as all external reviewers for their time and valued contributions to the tough and time-consuming reviewing process. Inadditiontothe regularpaperpresentations,the programalsofeaturedfour invited talks by Yupu Hu, from Xidian University, China; Youki Kadobayashi, from Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan; Mark Ryan, from the University of Birmingham, UK; and Gene Tsudik, from the University of C- ifornia at Irvine, USA. Welcome to the Third International Conference on Information Security and Ass- ance (ISA 2009). ISA 2009 was the most comprehensive conference focused on the various aspects of advances in information security and assurance. The concept of security and assurance is emerging rapidly as an exciting new paradigm to provide reliable and safe life services. Our conference provides a chance for academic and industry professionals to discuss recent progress in the area of communication and networking including modeling, simulation and novel applications associated with the utilization and acceptance of computing devices and systems. ISA 2009 was a succ- sor of the First International Workshop on Information Assurance in Networks (IAN 2007, Jeju-island, Korea, December, 2007), and the Second International Conference on Information Security and Assurance (ISA 2008, Busan, Korea, April 2008). The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of information technology. ISA 2009 contained research papers submitted by researchers from all over the world. In order to guarantee high-quality proceedings, we put extensive effort into reviewing the papers. All submissions were peer reviewed by at least three Program Committee members as well as external reviewers. As the quality of the submissions was quite high, it was extremely difficult to select the papers for oral presentation and publication in the proceedings of the conference.

The11thInternationalConferenceonInformationandCommunicationsSecurity (ICICS 2009) was held in Beijing, China during December 14–17, 2009. The ICICS conferenceseriesis anestablished forum that bringstogether people from universities,researchinstitutes, industry and governmentinstitutions, who work in a range of ?elds within information and communications security. The ICICS conferencesgiveattendeestheopportunitytoexchangenewideasandinvestigate developments in the state of the art. In previous years, ICICS has taken place in the UK (2008), China (2007, 2005, 2003, 2001 and 1997), USA (2006), Spain (2004), Singapore (2002), and Australia (1999). On each occasion, as on this one, the proceedings have been published in the Springer LNCS series. In total, 162 manuscripts from 20 countries and districts were submitted to ICICS 2009, and a total of 37 (31 regular papers plus 6 short papers) from 13 countries and districts were accepted (an acceptance rate of 23%). The accepted papers cover a wide range of disciplines within information security and applied cryptography. Each submission to ICICS 2009 was anonymously reviewed by three or four reviewers. We are very grateful to members of the Program C- mittee, which was composed of 44 members from 14 countries; we would like to thank them, as well as all the external referees, for their time and their valuable contributions to the tough and time-consuming reviewing process.

The 6th International Conference on Information Security Practice and Expe- ence (ISPEC 2010) was held in Seoul, Korea, May 12-13, 2010.
