For about a decade I have made an effort to study quadratic forms in infinite dimensional vector spaces over arbitrary division rings. Here we present in a systematic fashion half of the results found du­ ring this period, to wit, the results on denumerably infinite spaces (" ~O- forms") . Certain among the resul ts included here had of course been published at the time when they were found, others appear for the first time (the case, for example, in Chapters IX, X, XII where I in­ clude results contained in the Ph.D.theses by my students w. Allenspach, L. Brand, U. Schneider, M. Studer). If one wants to give an introduction to the geometric algebra of infinite dimensional quadratic spaces, a discussion of ~ -dimensional 0 spaces ideally serves the purpose. First, these spaces show a large nurober of phenomena typical of infinite dimensional spaces. Second, most proofs can be done by recursion which resembles the familiar pro­ cedure by induction in the finite dimensional Situation. Third, the student acquires a good feeling for the linear algebra in infinite di­ mensions because it is impossible to camouflage problems by topological expedients (in dimension ~O it is easy to see, in a given case, wheth­ er topological language is appropriate or not) .

Artikel („Ist irgendeine menschliche Handlung ihrer Art nach gut oder schlecht?“) aus der Handlungstheorie von Thomas von Aquin näher beleuchtet, wobei als Basis die Originaltexte von Thomas dienen.Nach Hinführung und Grundlegungen werden – in Abwandlung des Argumentationsgangs von Thomas - zunächst das Ergebnis seiner Untersuchung dargestellt sowie dann die Argumente und Gegenargumente behandelt; dabei werden einerseits für das Verständnis nötige Begriffe eingeführt sowie andererseits anhand vorliegender Rezeptionen und eigener Gedanken die vorgebrachten Argumente kritisch betrachtet.Die Summa theologiae von Thomas von Aquin gilt „als Inbegriff der scholastischen Synthese von Vernunft und Glauben, von Philosophie und Theologie [und gilt] als Modell für das mittelalterliche Philosophieverständnis“. Die Summa beschäftigt sich im ersten Teil mit Gott, im zweiten mit dem Menschen und im dritten Teil mit Christus; der zweite Teil ist unterteilt in die Allgemeine Moral und in die „Secunda secundae: Konkrete Sittlichkeit – Spezielle Moral“.Der 5. Artikel ist nach den Grundlegungen der vorhergehenden Artikel zentral, weil hier die Verbindung zur menschlichen Vernunft eingeführt wird. Das Herauslösen eines Artikels aus dem Gesamtzusammenhang ist hier durchaus möglich, da die einzelnen Problemstellungen in sich eine sinnvolle Fragestellung ergeben.

Jahrhunderts, Note: 1,0, Hochschule für Philosophie München, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Hannah Arendt und ihrem Werk "Vita Activa". Konkret soll die Frage beantwortet werden, was das Denken bei Hannah Arendt mit politischer Praxis zu tun hat. Die Verbindung der beiden Welten, der ''Vita contemplativa'' und der ''Vita activa'' ermöglicht, eine Linie zu zeichnen, wie Denken in der Politik praktisch werden kann. Dieser Bogen bildet das Geländer für diese Arbeit, in der auch für das Verständnis nötige Begriffe eingeführt sowie anhand vorliegender Rezeptionen und eigener Gedanken die vorgebrachten Argumente kritisch betrachtet werden.Die Politik erlebt in heutigen Zeiten eine Renaissance. Wir sehen dies beispielsweise beim entschlossenen Handeln während der Corona-Pandemie, oder auch beim zunehmenden Eintreten für die Demokratie gegen Rechtsterrorismus und Populismus. Den Menschen als Verstandeswesen zeichnet die Fähigkeit zum Denken aus. Somit scheint auch evident, dass das Denken auch in der Politik die Basis bildet, denn Politik ohne Denken scheint nicht vorstellbar. Allerdings ist somit nicht gesagt, welche Rolle genau das Denken in der Politik spielt oder anders formuliert: Wie manifestiert sich das Denken in den politischen Handlungen?Eine seriöse Diskussion erfordert, sich klar zu machen, was wir unter Denken und Politik verstehen. Von möglichen Alternativen wird in dieser Proseminararbeit die Konzeption von Hannah Arendt zugrunde gelegt. Hannah Arendt gilt – unabhängig von ihrer eigenen Einschätzung – als Philosophin und Politologin; sie hat sich - motiviert durch ihre Untersuchungen im berühmten Eichmann-Prozess - einerseits damit befasst, was Denken auszeichnet. Und andererseits hat sie in ihrem Werk „Vita activa“ mit dem Begriff des Handelns für Politik eine neue Definition festgelegt

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2023 im Fachbereich Politik - Klima- und Umweltpolitik, Note: 1,0, Hochschule für Philosophie München, Veranstaltung: Hauptseminar im Modul Naturwissenschaftliche Grenzfragen: Klimawandel, Klimakrise: Fakten und Erzählungen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es ist ernst: Bereits jetzt hat sich die Erdoberfläche deutlich erwärmt und die wissenschaftlichen Prognosen erfordern eine Umsteuerung und Begrenzung des menschengemachten Klimawandels, um die fatalen Folgen für Menschheit, Fauna und Flora zu minimeren.Weltweit haben darum fast alle Staaten 2015 im Pariser Klimaabkommen vereinbart, die dafür verantwortlichen Treibhausgasemissionen so reduzieren, dass die Erwärmung idealerweise auf 1,5-Grad begrenzet werden kann. Auch in der deutschen Politik hat die neue Bundesregierung aus SPD, GRÜNEN und FDP in ihrem Ampelkoalitionsvertrag von November 2021 Klimaschutz zu einem wesentlichen Schwerpunkt gemacht, die Pariser Ziele adäquat übernommen und ein großes Maßnahmenpaket definiert.In dieser Seminararbeit wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob die gesteckten Ziele der Klimapolitik erreichbar sind. Und wenn nicht, was die Gründe dafür sein könnten und welches Portfolio aufgelegt werden müsste.Zur Erschließung wird darum in der Arbeit zunächst geklärt, was Klimawandel ist, warum er ein Problem ist und wie die Welt und auch Deutschland reagieren; der Ampel-Koalitionsvertrag wird in seinen für das Klima wesentlichen Elementen skizziert und dann die Einschätzung des zuständigen, unabhängigen Expertenrats dargelegt, aktualisiert mit der Situation nach eineinhalb Regierungsjahren. Wegen der prognostizierten Zielverfehlung wird nach Erklärungen gesucht, was zwangsläufig zu den Narrativen führt, die der Vertrag erzählt sowie den zugrundeliegenden Interessen der wesentlichen Stakeholder. Am Ende wird skizziert, welche Eckpfeiler eine adäquate Klimapolitik auszeichnen würden.Nicht Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sind die zwischenzeitliche Art des Regierungshandeln sowie die Energiekrise, bedingt durch Russlands Krieg gegen die Ukraine.Diese Arbeit bedient sich den Stellungnahmen des Expertenrats und anderer wissenschaftlicher Gremien, Einschätzungen der UN, entsprechenden Vorlesungen an der HfPh sowie Verlautbarungen von einschlägigen Interessenvertretern. Ergänzend und darauf aufbauend werden eigene Thesen und Einschätzungen entwickelt.

Zunächst wird analysiert, wie Zeit wahrgenommen wird und ob sie sich allgemein fassen lässt. Begriffliche und metaphysische Annäherungen klären, was Zeit bedeutet und welche Zeit real existiert. Im weiteren Verlauf wird die Rolle der Zeit in der Natur beleuchtet, insbesondere die Stabilität der Natur und die Frage, ob Zeit eine fundamentale Größe oder nur ein Phänomen ist, das durch Entropie und Selbstorganisation erklärt wird. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der individuellen, sozialen und kulturellen Dimension der Zeit. Es wird untersucht, wie unser Zeitbewusstsein entsteht, sich zeigt und wie wir es empfinden. Vom individuellen Zeitbewusstsein wird der Bogen zum gemeinschaftlichen Zeitbewusstsein gespannt, das sich in sozialen und kulturellen Kontexten manifestiert. Abschließend wird die Frage erörtert, ob es eine einheitliche Zeit oder zumindest etwas Gemeinsames gibt, das alle Prozesse verbindet. Verschiedene Zeitformen werden diskutiert, einschließlich der Möglichkeiten und Grenzen ihrer Überführung sowie ihrer Synchronisation über die Uhrzeit. Die Arbeit untersucht auch die Wirkungsursachen zwischen innerer Zeit und Naturzeit, um ein tieferes Verständnis der Zeit als immanentes Element aller Prozesse zu gewinnen.

Bei dem Unterfangen ist wichtig, sich bewusst zu machen, woher Platon seine Gerechtigkeits-Idee ableitet und wie die Zeiten damals waren – sowohl politisch als auch hinsichtlich konkurrierender Gerechtigkeitsvorstellungen. Nach diesen Rekonstruktionen muss und wird konsequenterweise die Kritik an Platon dargestellt sowie schlussendlich überlegt, welche Anregungen daraus für die heutige Zeit gewonnen werden können, obwohl sich das Staats- und Gerechtigkeitsverständnis grundlegend geändert haben
